چکیده

ABSTRACT: Mast cell tumors are one of the most common neoplasia in dogs and cytopathology and/or histopathology examinations used for diagnosis. Histologic grading is considered gold standard test to predict prognosis this neoplasia. However, studies have been conducted using cytological system provide similar information a faster, less invasive, more accessible way. This study aimed investigate graduation correlate it with histological survival time diagnosed cutaneous mast at Veterinary Hospital “Universidade Federal de Uberlândia” over five years. For that, slides from 72 animals were reviewed. The statistical methods kappa agreement between systems, Kaplan-Meier time, Cox regression comparison grades time. when compared two-tier histologic grading, high low grades, had moderate (kappa 0.566). When correlation grade was evaluated, there higher death rate group high-grade grade, pointing (p=0.009). In conclusion, useful treatment planning providing prognostic that precedes tumor removal, showing good animals.

Classification and grading of canine malignant mammary tumors

Histological grading is a good parameter to stratify tumors according to their biological aggressiveness. The Elston and Ellis grading method in humans, invasive ductal breast carcinomas and other invasive tumors are routinely used. The aims of this study were classification of mammary gland tumors and also application of a human grading method in canine mammary carcinoma. The samples included ...

Proposal of a 2-tier histologic grading system for canine cutaneous mast cell tumors to more accurately predict biological behavior.

Currently, prognostic and therapeutic determinations for canine cutaneous mast cell tumors (MCTs) are primarily based on histologic grade. However, the use of different grading systems by veterinary pathologists and institutional modifications make the prognostic value of histologic grading highly questionable. To evaluate the consistency of microscopic grading among veterinary pathologists and...

The cytological grading of malignant neoplasms of the breast and its correlation with the histological grading.

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES Breast carcinoma is one of the leading causes of malignancy in females. The diagnosis of breast carcinoma is often made by fine needle aspiration cytology. Nuclear grading is an important prognostic factor. It is important to grade breast carcinomas, which will provide valuable information to the treating oncologists to plan their management. The purpose of this study ...
